The Board of the National Petroleum (NP) Sierra Leone Limited has announced the appointment of Dr. Mohamed S. Kanu as the new Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the company, effective August 1, 2025.
“Dr. Kanu’s appointment becomes effective as from 1st August 2025,” the Board confirmed. The Board’s decision follows the resignation of former CEO Mr. Saidu Mansaray.
Kanu has previously served as the CEO of NP Cote D’Ivoire, one of the affiliates of NP Group Limited. The Board clearly asserted that, “Dr Kanu until his appointment was the CEO of NP Cote D’lvoire, one of the Affiliates of NP Group Limited.”
As the new CEO, his responsibilities entails leading the company and ensuring its success in the petroleum industry, which includes overseeing operations, setting strategic direction, fostering relationships with stakeholders, and maintaining the company’s reputation for quality and customer satisfaction.
