Through the Ministry of Technical and Higher Education, the Government of Sierra Leone has made known that the People’s Republic of China Scholarship Program is accepting applications from suitably qualified Sierra Leoneans who wish to pursue UNDERGRADUATE, MASTERS and Ph.d programs in China in the following fields of study:

B. SC: Engineering Science, Medical Disciplines, Computer Science and Information Technology.

M.SC: Engineering Science, International Relations, Medical Disciplines, Computer Science and Information Technology, Conservation and Rural Development, Agricultural Science Options, Education Planning and Management, Water Engineering/Analysis, Food Science, Applied Marine and Fisheries Ecology, Climate Change Science and Policy.

Ph. D: Medical Disciplines, Engineering Science, Agricultural Science Options, Applied Marine and Fisheries Ecology, Computer Science and Information Technology, Food Science, Social Work and Social Economics, Climate Change Science and Policy, Education Planning and Management.

The Application credentials and the requirements covered by the scholarship include the following:

Applicants for the Undergraduate must not be more than 25 years of age;

those for the Postgraduate Master’s must not be above 35 years of age and

those applying for the Ph. D programmes must not be more than 45 years.

Upload a scanned copy of travelling documents with validity not later than March 1st 2024.

Upload evidence of acquired education certificates and transcript.

Nominated candidate is to submit a Medical certificate not older than six months certifying that the candidate does not suffer from any infectious diseases and this must be done at the 34 Military Hospital.

Upload a study plan or research proposal (a minimum of 200 words for undergraduates, 800 words for postgraduate students).

Applicants for the graduate programmes must submit two letters of recommendations.

Interested applicants must use the Ministry of Technical and Higher Education (MTHE) website (www.mthe.gov.sl) to apply.

Completed forms with all supporting documents should be submitted to the same website on or before 21st December, 2022.

Successful applicants of this scholarship are entitled to the following provisions the scholarship awards:

Monthly stipend starts from the day of arrival in China:

UNDERGRADUATES – CNY 2,500

MASTERS – CNY 3,000

DOCTORAL – CNY 3,500

One-time round-trip-ticket

Comprehensive Medical insurance.
