Sierra Leone Foreign Affairs Minister, Professor David J. Francis says the country stands with the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS) common position that condemns the attempted coup in Guinea and demands a return of constitutional order and the immediate and unconditional release of Alpha Conde.

Guinea’s military special forces on Sunday 5th September, 2021 staged a coup, announcing it had arrested the country’s president, dissolved the government and would rewrite the constitution.
