The Government of Sierra Leone has shut down internet in the country today August 10, 2022.
This is coming amidst protests in the east end of Freetown and in several towns across the north of Sierra Leone with police and protesters in running battles.
Sierraloaded reports that Protests have so far claimed the lives of at least three people as at press time, in addition to many injured.
The disruption is likely to limit the free flow of information online and news coverage of incidents on the ground.
Sierraloaded reporters in Freetown also confirmed via telephone calls that they are unable to access the internet.
This is a developing story. Please check back for updates.
