Sierra Leone is once again taking center stage in the global fight against climate change as it prepares to host the Climate Resilience and Energy Transition Dialogue 2025 (CRET 2025) a landmark conference dedicated to advancing climate action, food systems resilience, and sustainable energy solutions.

Under the leadership of His Excellency President Julius Maada Bio, the country is reaffirming its commitment to building a greener, more resilient, and inclusive future. The event is powered by the Presidential Initiative on Climate Change, Renewable Energy and Food Security (PI-CREF), led by Hon. Dr. Kandeh K. Yumkella, a globally respected advocate for sustainable energy and climate innovation.

CRET 2025 will bring together global leaders, private investors, development partners, and grassroots changemakers to engage in strategic dialogue and forge partnerships aimed at:

Unlocking transformative investments for climate resilience

Accelerating green and inclusive economic growth

Promoting access to clean and sustainable energy for all

Strengthening food security through climate-smart solutions

A key highlight of the conference will be the official launch of “MISSION 300,” a bold national initiative focused on sustainable development and climate leadership for Sierra Leone’s future.

Minister Yumkella emphasized that the dialogue is not just another conference, but a turning point in Sierra Leone’s sustainability journey, positioning the nation as a regional model for climate action and equitable energy transition.

“CRET 2025 is about harnessing our collective will, innovation, and investment to transform Sierra Leone into a hub of green growth and climate resilience,” said Dr. Yumkella.
