The Human Rights Commission Sierra Leone has reviewed their Human Resource Manual and Other Administrative Policies.
The United Nations Development Programme and Irish Aid, through its continuous support to the Human Rights Commission of Sierra Leone (HRCSL) has provided funds for the review and validation of existing administrative policies and strategies.
The two-day training held at the New Brookfields Hotel in Freetown was for core staff members of the Commission including regional heads to familiarise themselves with the new policies and strategies to effectively carry out the work of the Commission.
The Consultant, Dr Reuben Lewis, said consultations were held with key staff of the Commission when reviewing the documents. He said the validation exercise was to highlight areas to be strengthened or revised to fit the Commissions operations.
Among the policies reviewed was the Human Resource Manual, Transport Policy, Financial Policy, Communication Policy and the Resource Mobilisation Strategy.
Vice-Chairperson of HRCSL, Victor Idrissa Lansana thanked UNDP and Irish Aid for hiring a consultant to support the review process adding that the reviewed policies will enhance the work of the Commission.
