The Government of Sierra Leone through the Petroleum Regulatory Agency (PRA), the Ministry of Finance, the Ministry of Trade and Industry and oil Marketing Companies has agreed to increase the prices of petroleum products in the country from Le15,000 to Le22,000.
The new pump prices will be effective on 30th June 2022.
The Petroleum Regulatory Agency (PRA) made this announcement in a press release issued today, 29 June 2022.
This is the third time already this year that the government has increased the prices of petroleum products in the country, having increased prices from; Le10,000 to Le12,000, to Le12,000 to Le15,000, and now from Le15,000 to Le22,000.

This press release from PRA however failed to state the reason for the recent increase in the price of petroleum products, having stated before that the spike in the price of petrol and diesel, the excess demand of fuel products in the international market, and that of the escalating crisis in Europe are the reasons for the increase in pump prices.
