The Sierra Leone Local Content Agency (LCA) convened its first quarterly (2026) Consultative Forum meeting at the National Investment Board NIB, on Tuesday, 31st March 2026.
The overarching objective is to enhance economic growth and empower Sierra Leoneans through increased participation in national development.
Executive Director of the NIB, Dr. Hinga Sandy, reaffirmed his institution’s commitment to the Local Content Policy. He emphasized that the mandate of the NIB is closely aligned with that of the LCA, particularly in the registration of local businesses.

He highlighted the establishment of an online business registration platform, enabling local enterprises to register with ease in compliance with Local Content provisions.
Additionally, he further noted that the Mid-Term National Development Plan faces a significant funding gap, but the awareness and knowledge disseminated by the LCA to local communities will help bridge these gaps
In his conclusion, he stressed the importance of integrating Local Content Policy into the programmes of MDAs, private sector actors, and professional bodies. He also underscored the joint responsibility of the NIB and LCA in monitoring corporate social responsibility CSR initiatives to ensure that companies contribute meaningfully to community development.

Furthermore, the Director General of the LCA, Fodeba Daboh, commended the collaborative efforts of the NIB in driving the Local Content agenda. He emphasized that Local Content is not limited to employment opportunities but also extends to the service sector, which plays a critical role in strengthening the national economy.
The forum brought together stakeholders from Ministries, Departments, and Agencies MDAs, as well as representatives from the private sector, to collectively advance the implementation of the Local Content Policy.
