Sierra Leone’s Ministry of Health and the National Public Health Agency (NPHA), in collaboration with the Ministry of Social Welfare and Breakthrough ACTION, launched new informational materials designed specifically for individuals with special needs.
The orientation session, held on Friday, October 25th, 2024, at the Ministry of Social Welfare Conference Hall in Freetown, introduced these vital resources, which focus on Lassa fever, Ebola, and Mpox.
Recognizing the importance of reaching every member of the community, these materials aim to empower individuals with disabilities with critical knowledge about the symptoms, transmission, prevention, and treatment of these diseases. This proactive measure ensures that everyone is equipped to protect themselves and contribute to a healthier society, especially in the event of an outbreak.
The initiative highlights the commitment of Sierra Leone’s health authorities to ensure that public health information is accessible to all, leaving no one behind in the effort to build a more resilient and informed nation.
