Yesterday 7th December, 2021 Sierra Leone Police (SLP) arrested the Acting Regional Chairman Northeast, Alie Commoner Kargbo and Acting Deputy Chairman, Abdul Mansaray in Makeni.

The two suspects were immediately conveyed at Freetown and detained at Criminal Investigation Department where they are answering to questions. According to sources, their mobile phones were withheld by the police for further investigations.

Sources added that, their arrest came after they organized a meeting and informed their people not to take part on the mid-term census that is about to take place.

The Mid-Term Population and Housing Census is expected to start on the 10th December and ends on 23rd December, 2021. However, opposition All People’s Congress and other political parties have called on their members to quit the census.
