The Sierra Leone Police has been awarded and recognized best institution in Sierra Leone for compliance with the Rights to Access Information Act.
The Sierra Leone Police was recognized alongside the Anti-Corruption Commission and the Audit Service by the Society for Democratic Initiatives.
The recognition was done during a discourse on the implementation of the Rights to Information Act enacted in 2013.
The SLP alongside ACC and Audit Service was applauded for giving out information to the public when sought.
The institutions are said to be complying with the Rights to Access Information which give people the rights to demand information from public institutions when they want to.
