The Global Peace Index is a report produced by the Institute for Economic and peace, which measures the relative position of nations and regions. It is the world leading measure of global peacefulness.
Sierra Leone has been ranked as the 4th out of 10 countries in Africa for the year 2022.
The report states that Sierra Leone had a GDI score of 1.81 after Mauritius 1.54, Ghana 1.72 and Bostwana 1.75.
Countries are considered to be peaceful and safe the lower the GDI score.
The GPI is published annually which are measures on 23 indicators of peace which are grouped into three categories international and domestic conflict, social safety and security, and militarization.
