The Sierra Leone Red Cross Society (SLRCS) provides training for local bridge volunteers in Bo, Pujehun, Kenema, Moyamba, Bonthe, and Kono.
They posted on their social media platform that the training aimed to provide participants with essential skills, enhance awareness, and motivate BRIDGE communities to build household latrines, aligning with the Community Led Total Sanitation (CLTS) policy.
They underscored that the training includes a practical demonstration of how to cast slabs, as well as a detailed explanation of the engineering processes involved, and will cover the dimensions of the slab, quality of materials, mixing ratios, and models of latrines based on economic and soil conditions.
Participants are encouraged to ask questions and make contributions during the training. The training began on August 7th and is slated to conclude on August 13th, 2023
