The Sierra Leone Roads Authority (SLRA) on Friday, September 9, 2022, received a new KD-300 Portable Drilling Rig from the Integrated and Resilient Urban Mobility Project (IRUMP) implemented by the Ministry of Transport and Aviation.

The donation is part of the capacity-building component of the Project to SLRA.

The equipment will be used for sub-surface Geotechnical investigations to sample soil columns and rock cores to a depth of 300 metres. The results from the investigations will guide SLRA and its contractors in the design of foundations for substructures.

Also, the use of the equipment will enhance the skills of our engineers in Geotechnical Engineering.
