In a bold move to reshape Africa’s narrative on the global stage, the Olu of Warri, Ogiame Atuwatse III, and his wife, Olori Atuwatse III, will host the Elevate Africa Global Leaders for Transformative Dialogue.
This event will convene visionary leaders and changemakers dedicated to driving the continent’s development.
Among the distinguished speakers is Dr. Walton Ekundayo Gilpin, Managing Director and CEO of Rokel Commercial Bank, Sierra Leone. Dr. Gilpin will provide expert insights on financial empowerment, focusing on Africa’s economic growth potential and the role of financial systems in uplifting communities and businesses.
Also joining the roster is Hon. Umaru Napoleon Koroma, Sierra Leone’s Deputy Minister for Mines and Mineral Resources. He will deliver a critical discussion on sustainable mining practices, a pressing issue for Africa’s future resource management and economic sustainability.
The Olu of Warri emphasized that Elevate Africa is not only a platform to showcase the continent’s potential but also a space for African leaders to take charge of their development narrative. “This platform will empower the next generation of African leaders, foster innovation, and drive sustainable solutions that resonate beyond Africa’s borders,” said the royal couple in a statement.
Kim Schofield, a member of the Georgia House of Representatives, USA, will explore the intersections of policy and leadership, particularly the influence of African Diaspora leaders on global dynamics. Liza Pavlakis, Founder of Mind Hub Directory in Australia, will address mental health and resilience, challenging prevailing perceptions of Africa’s future.
Moderated by Stephanie Busari, Senior Editor at CNN Africa, the dialogue will feature prominent figures such as Mayor Jaylen Smith of Arkansas, USA, Her Excellency Jewel Taylor, former Vice President of Liberia, and Lord Fabrice Brad Rulinda, Mayor of Entebbe.
