The President of the Sierra Leone Association of Journalists, Ahmed Sahid Nasralla has addressed growing apprehensions surrounding potential unrest in the nation.
Nasralla’s statement, posted on Facebook, emphasized the critical role of journalists during this period of heightened security.
“As concerns rise over rumors of protests by unidentified groups, we urge all journalists, both domestically and internationally, to uphold the law and continue their usual duties,” Nasralla asserted.
He cautioned against the dissemination of misinformation and discouraged the expression of opinions that could potentially jeopardize security.
Nasralla further implored journalists to prioritize their personal safety and remain vigilant in their reporting practices.
“In these uncertain times, it is paramount that we advocate for peace above all else,” Nasralla concluded.
