The President of the Sierra Leone Bar Association (SLBA), Tuma Adama Gento Kamara, has outlined her vision for enhancing the Association’s standards.
She stated that, to enhance the Association’s standards, members will be supported through educational initiatives, including scholarships and internship programs.
She disclosed plans for a building to house the new secretariat. Additionally, she discussed initiatives to ensure pensions for retired lawyers, emphasizing the Association’s role in upholding legal integrity and human rights.
Madam Gento Kamara addressed the just-concluded Tribunal Report, urging the Office of the Attorney General and Parliament to swiftly take up the matter and address it to ensure the rule of law is preserved.
She expressed gratitude to her colleagues who voted for her based on her manifesto.
If she wants to raise standards, she should start with voting integrity, ensure that methods are in place so that SLBA elections are held properly and then she should remove herself
