The President of the Sierra Leone Football Association (SLFA), Babadi Kamara, on Thursday, September 18, 2025, paid a courtesy visit to the Royal Embassy of Saudi Arabia in Freetown, where he met with Ambassador His Excellency Alhaji to discuss potential football development partnerships.

Kamara was accompanied by the Acting General Secretary of SLFA, Mohamed Benson Bawoh. At the close of the meeting, Ambassador Alhaji presented a golden replica of the iconic Makkah Clock Tower as a souvenir to the SLFA President and his delegation.

The discussions focused on the possibility of establishing bilateral ties between Sierra Leone and Saudi Arabia in football development.

Key areas highlighted included the creation of youth football academies, the construction of standard playing facilities, and exchange programs for coaches, referees, and administrators.

Ambassador Alhaji warmly welcomed the initiative and assured the Embassy’s support towards achieving a sustainable and mutually beneficial partnership. He also pledged to visit the SLFA Secretariat soon as part of efforts to strengthen cooperation.

Additionally, the Ambassador extended an invitation to President Kamara and his delegation to attend the celebration of the 95th National Day of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, scheduled for September 23, 2025, at the Radisson Blu Mammy Yoko Hotel in Aberdeen, Freetown.
