The Sierra Leone Football Association (SLFA), in partnership with the North-West Regional Football Association (NWRFA), has commenced a two-day capacity-building seminar on Competition Management and FIFA Connect for football administrators across the North-West Region.
The seminar brings together strategic administrators from football clubs, District Football Associations, and the Regional Football Association to strengthen administrative efficiency, improve competition organisation, and enhance player registration and data management through the FIFA Connect system.
The opening ceremony was attended by SLFA Vice President I, Ali Badara Tarawallie, Chairman of the North-West Regional Football Association, Abdul Osman Turay, and NWRFA Secretary General, Mohamed “Speaking” Kamara, alongside other football stakeholders in the region.

Speaking at the event, Vice President I Ali Badara Tarawallie described the training as a vital component of the SLFA’s regional capacity-building programme, aimed at improving the standard of competition management and player administration nationwide.
He emphasized that strengthening football administration at the grassroots and regional levels remains a top priority of the SLFA Executive Committee led by President Babadi Kamara.
“The effective management of competitions and accurate player data are fundamental to the growth and credibility of our game,” Tarawallie stated. He reaffirmed the SLFA’s commitment to equipping football administrators with the necessary skills and tools to ensure professional, transparent, and efficient football structures across Sierra Leone.
In his remarks, NWRFA Chairman Abdul Osman Turay expressed appreciation to the SLFA for what he described as a timely and transformative initiative. He noted that the seminar marks a major step toward improving football governance in the North-West Region, particularly in areas such as digital player registration, data management, and administrative transparency.
Chairman Turay encouraged participants to fully engage in the training, stressing that the knowledge acquired would play a crucial role in strengthening football administration within their respective clubs and districts.
The two-day seminar continues with technical sessions focusing on competition planning, regulatory compliance, and the practical application of the FIFA Connect system, as the SLFA intensifies efforts to professionalise football administration across the country.
