Paul Joseph Amara, CEO of the Sierra Leone Open Access Network-Sierra Leone (SLOAN-SL), today unveiled an ambitious initiative designed to strengthen Sierra Leone’s educational framework in alignment with President Julius Maada Bio’s Human Capital Development (HCD) agenda.

The launch emphasizes Sierra Leone’s commitment to prioritizing education as a cornerstone of national progress.

In a statement, Mr. Amara outlined SLOAN-SL’s strategic plan to contribute to the Bio administration’s ongoing efforts to enhance education, an essential element of the HCD agenda. SLOAN-SL aims to deliver widespread access to quality education, digital learning, and advanced infrastructure—resources viewed as fundamental to fostering sustainable economic growth and societal development. The initiative seeks to empower Sierra Leoneans with the knowledge and skills necessary for future success.

“SLOAN-SL appeals to all Sierra Leoneans to support this mission,” Mr. Amara stated. He called on citizens to rally behind the effort, emphasizing the importance of collective ownership of the country’s educational future. “Together, we can build a future where every Sierra Leonean has equal access to learning opportunities and the resources necessary to reach their potential.”

The SLOAN-SL program aligns closely with President Bio’s HCD agenda, which underscores education as critical to national resilience and economic transformation. This initiative promises improved access to learning across socioeconomic boundaries through innovative programs aimed at bridging the nation’s education gap.

By mobilizing community support and encouraging civic participation, SLOAN-SL envisions a nation unified in its commitment to educational development. “Let us all embrace and support this initiative in this land that we love—Sierra Leone,” the organization urged.

SLOAN-SL’s initiative is positioned as a model of public-private partnership in advancing national objectives. With active support from Sierra Leoneans, SLOAN-SL seeks to create a brighter future for the nation’s youth, helping establish Sierra Leone as a leader in educational progress across West Africa.
