The Strategic Communication Unit of the All People’s Congress (APC) has announced the successful conversion of a number of loyal supporters from the ruling Sierra Leone People’s Party (SLPP) to our party in Bonthe District, located in the southern region of Sierra Leone.

“As we gear up for the upcoming elections, more than fifty dedicated individuals from Bonthe District, which happens to be the birthplace of President Bio, have made the decision to pledge their allegiance to the APC for the 2028 elections. These individuals were previously aligned with the SLPP.”

Foday Kallon, one of the defectors, cited the government’s neglect of its supporters as a primary reason for his switch in allegiance. Despite their unwavering loyalty to the SLPP, many felt they had little to show for their dedication. Isata Alieu, a mother of two, pointed to the deteriorating economic conditions under President Bio’s leadership as a driving factor in her decision to defect to the opposition party.

This historic event took place on Sunday, November 17, 2024, in Bo, following the Southern Region Fundraising Dinner.

The ceremony was attended by a number of distinguished individuals, including the National Chairman, Hon. Alhaji Minkailu Mansaray, Lansana Dumbuya Esq., Sidi Yayah Tunis, Hon. Wurroh Timbo, and the esteemed Bonthe District Chairman, Comrade Mohamed Sheriff, among others.
