Sierra Leone Road Safety Authority (SLRSA) has put together some Traffic Regulations offences and their penalties for public service vehicles. Traffic Regulation Offences often leads to fines and or imprisonment.
Let’s take a look at these offenses and the penalties that can be attracted by them:
Using a Taxi for conveyance of livestock
Penalty– minimum penalty for this offense is a fine of le 400,000
Carrying excess passengers on a taxi
Penalty– minimum penalty for this offense is a fine of le 400,000
Carrying excess persons onboard omnibus
Penalty– fine of Le 400,000
Driving an unclean omnibus and driver/conductor not properly dressed and tidy
Penalty– fine of Le 400,000
Carrying onboard omnibus goods and passengers at the same time
Penalty– fine of Le 400,000
Driving omnibus on an unauthorized route
Penalty– fine of Le 400,000
Failing to route a public service vehicle operating in western area (taxi/omnibus)
Penalty– fine of Le 300,000
Carrying additional freight or load on the canopy of a tanker
Penalty– Le 400,000
Parking a spirit or explosive tanker in populated location
Penalty– fine of Le 400,000
Failing to produce Driving license on demand for inspection, by an appropriate authority
Penalty– fine of Le 400,000
Driving public service vehicles without passenger manifest (provincial vehicles)
Penalty– fine of Le 400,000
Permitting person(s) to stand in a motor vehicle or trailer that is not covered while in motion
Penalty– fine of Le 400,000
Driving motor vehicle without (fire extinguisher, wheel spanner, horn, insurance certificate, warning reflective triangle, inflated spare tire, first aid box, jack and road worthiness certificate)
Penalty– fine of Le 400,000
Driving vehicle with tinted glass when not approved by the police
Penalty– fine of Le 400,000
Driving and smoking while the vehicle is in motion
Penalty– fine of Le 400,000
Eating and driving in a vehicle, while the vehicle is in motion
Penalty– fine of Le 400,000
Driver regulating or receiving mobile telephone call, while the vehicle is in motion
Penalty– fine of Le 400,000
Driving/riding recklessly or carelessly or dangerously or under the influence of alcohol (in case of commercial vehicle)
Penalty– one can be arrested for committing such offence (arrest able).
Driving a motor vehicle dangerously
Penalty– arrest able.
Driving under the influence of alcohol above maximum percentage
Penalty– arrest able.

Offences no offences if police ready 4 take money from driver e go comot all d way en takecam. Na d only countri dis way u nor 4 fen u right or else ready 4 receive all d aligation
Pady SLRSA are just working around there offices in all part of the country where there offices are, so police are responsible for all those offences so SLRSA and police are the same so just be careful on the roads and obey traffic rules but no matter what you can never be free from Sierra Leone Police 😆😜😜
