The Ministry of Social Welfare has reaffirmed its commitment to family welfare by providing additional assistance to Mohamed S. Kamara and Fatmata K. Sesay, a couple raising quadruplets in Freetown. The support was extended during a follow-up visit to the Ministry’s headquarters on Tuesday.

The family, residing at 16 Old Arberdeen, Crab Town, Lumley, was welcomed by the Minister of Social Welfare, Madam Melrose Karminty, on their second official visit since the birth of their four children in 2024.

Minister Karminty commended Mr. Kamara for his support of his wife and children, acknowledging the challenges of raising multiple newborns. “Seeing this young man support his wife and quadruplets is a clear demonstration of love, responsibility, and dedication,” she stated.

As part of the Ministry’s ongoing support for families in need, Madam Karminty presented the family with two 50kg bags of rice and a monetary donation. She also praised Mrs. Sesay for her resilience and care in raising four children simultaneously.

Madam Worokia Conteh, Deputy Director of the Family Unit, emphasized the Ministry’s dedication to protecting family principles and ensuring the welfare of children nationwide.

Mr. Kamara expressed his gratitude to the Ministry, particularly the Family Unit, for their continued engagement and practical assistance, which he described as timely and impactful.

Minister Karminty assured the family of the Ministry’s continued support and encouraged the couple to raise their children with love and unity, suggesting it could lead to blessings and success.
