Abubakar Kargbo, a fine writer of the Standard Times Newspaper has been summoned by the Sierra Leone Police to report at the Criminal Investigations Department (CID) headquarters in Freetown.

According to the police notice, he is to help with the investigations on the case of cyber stalking and cyberbullying. Much details was not revealed in the notice.

However, a report from the Gleaner Newspaper states that the sudden summoned could have been ignited by the Finance Director of the National Revenue Authority (NRA).

The report alleged that the Finance Director has been Intimidating Journalists with the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) for cross-checking a story, using the Cyber Security and Crime Act to silence critical voices there by waging war on Press Freedom in the country.

The journalist in question, is to report at the Criminal Investigation Department(CID) today, 23rd November, 2023 at 11:00.
