Statistics Sierra Leone has reportedly commenced payment of remaining 70% to enumerators and supervisors who were part of the last set of field staff to be paid.
This development comes after Field staffs wrote a letter to the National coordinator of Statistics Sierra Leone threatening to take black demonstration throughout the country, if they fail to bring out encouraging words to them in relation to the delay of payments.
On the 2nd June 2022 The Deputy Statistician General Mr. Andrew Bob Johnny in a press briefing held at the Ministry of Information and Communications , disclosed that through the swift intervention of His Excellency Dr. Julius Maada Bio, Statistics Sierra Leone has been provided with Le 30 Billion to pay enumerators.
He also disclosed that the delay in process was caused by the verification and the bank system for transparency purposes
