Sierra Leonean artist and the CEO of IAMSL Pageant Agency, Natasha Beckley has explained why he stopped the countdown for the release of her first album.
Natasha Beckley was supposed to release her new album “Freetown The Recipe” on 7th August, 2021 but she stopped the countdown immediately she reaches 6 days to the album release.
According to Natasha, the support she is receiving from the fans is too low compare to the cost and energy she has put on her album. The rapper spent her time in Lagos, Nigeria to work on the album. She featured Timaya and other Nigerian musicians. In Nigeria, she has been promoting her album and associating with Phyno, Patoranking and other celebrities. Natasha also explained that she shot an expensive video with Timaya by Nigerian finest music video director, Patrick Elis but wondering if people will watch it.
Natasha Beckley cleared the air when a friend asked her why she stopped the countdown on her Facebook page. From a response from the rapper, she wrote:
“Good morning family
So, a friend called me saying she noticed I stopped my album countdown. I am stressed 😩 As an up and coming artist with no major label backing me up, I have to do everything on my own with my team.
I told her with all the work I’m putting in in Lagos cost a lot of money and the numbers are not adding up. Got a massive video with Timaya shot by Nigeria’s finest Patrick Ellis, but who is going to watch it.
I was trying to tell my friend in Lagos that our numbers would never be like Nigeria, then she responded Sierra Leone needs show a little more love 😩😩😩. Brands need to see the numbers for visibility especially here in Nigeria. I have what it takes to work with different brands here, and I know big things will happen.
Family my Album will be out anytime this month of august, with over 11 thousand followers on Facebook just asking for 1% to subscribe to my social media accounts Instagram, YouTube & audiomack account. Album out this month but let’s get these numbers up.
36,100 Instagram. Goal 37,000
Thank you guys so much for understanding and support. We have what it takes to challenge africa. I need your support.”
Nevertheless, the rapper is expected to release her album within this month.
