Civil Society Organization on Service Delivery today led a group of citizens to protest against the decision of the  World Bank withdrawal of their technical and financial support from the conduction of the Mid-Term Census.

Some supporters of the ruling government were also at the front of the World Bank head office in Freetown asking International Development Partners to hands off their national politics over the Mid-Term Census saga.

The conduction of the Census has faced wide criticism from Political Parties and Civil Societies in Sierra Leone. The Main opposition All people’s Congress had called on it members to boycott it. Amidst these criticism, the World Bank announced that it is working with the Sierra Leone Government to help produce quality and credible data that will help  towards the contribution of the attainment of the national development goals of the country.

This was contained in a letter written by Pierre, World Bank Country Director to Finance Minister, Dennis Vandi and Economic and Development Planning Minister on Tuesday.
