The Surgeons in Action Foundation has arrived in the country to commence another round of free surgical operations at the Police Hospital, Kingtom Police Barracks, as part of its ongoing medical outreach aimed at improving the health and well-being of police personnel, their families, and surrounding community members.
According to ASP Dr. John Mumuneh Konteh, a comprehensive screening exercise is currently underway to assess patients’ medical conditions and determine their suitability for surgery. Only those certified medically fit will undergo the operations.
The surgical operations are scheduled to begin tomorrow, 2nd February 2026, and will cover a range of medical conditions, including lipoma, hernia, appendicitis, and goitre, among others.
This initiative forms part of a continuing humanitarian partnership that provides critical surgical care at no cost to beneficiaries, thereby easing the burden of medical expenses and expanding access to specialized treatment.
Further updates will be provided as the surgical campaign progresses.
