Sierra Leone’s Minister of Employment, Labour, and Social Security, Mohamed Rahman Swaray, is actively participating in a three-day session in Baku alongside fellow labour ministers.
The event, the 5th Session of the Islamic Conference of Labour Ministers, is centered on exploring innovative solutions and the digitalization of labour and employment services within the member states of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC).
Taking place from November 21st to November 23rd, 2023, in Baku, Azerbaijan, the sessions aim to delve into OIC programs related to labour, employment, and social protection. Additionally, the gathering provides a platform for the exchange of perspectives on emerging challenges affecting workers and labour markets in OIC states.
The Ministry of Labour and Social Protection of Population of the Republic of Azerbaijan, in collaboration with the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), has organized the event.
Minister Swaray is anticipated to engage in several bilateral discussions with counterparts from other OIC member states. The agenda for these discussions encompasses vital issues such as the promotion of labour employment for decent work, social protection, capacity building, and training, among other pertinent topics.
This active participation by Sierra Leone’s Labour Minister underscores the commitment of OIC member states to address contemporary challenges in the realm of labour and employment.
