The Big 5 Innovation Investment Challenge has released the list of teams selected for the semi-final stage of the competition.

The announcement follows a five-day bootcamp involving 250 participants and 100 solutions across regional contests in Sierra Leone.

From each region, teams have been chosen to move on to the next round. Only five teams will make it to the Grand Finale, which will take place at the Digital Government Summit in May. The winning team will receive $60,000, equal to 1.5 billion old Leones.

In the Eastern Region, the teams selected are Mamawa Muyengay Agric Business Enterprise, Helzee Farms, Youth in Partnership for Aquaculture Development, and Green Compost.

In the Southern Region, the teams are Stem Garage, Hire a Grad, De Wizzard SL, SolAgri Systems, and EcoDesign Innovations SL.

In the Northern Region, the semi-finalists are Sign Language People Organization, Millet Agricultural Services, Cassivity SL, and Ecosolar.

From the North-West Region, the teams moving forward are Insect-Based Organic Fertilizer & Livestock Feed, TenEx Farms, and Creating Employment Opportunities for Persons with Disabilities in SL.

In the Western Area, the semi-finalists are Sierra Electronic, Mocha, Send Me, School District, Water Light, Vickline Enterprise, Arnold’s Renewable Energy, Sans Clay Bricks, and Studio 74 SL Ltd.

All selected teams will now prepare for the semi-final stage. From there, only five teams will move on to the final round and compete for the top prize at the summit in May.
