The All People’s Congress (APC) party is grappling with internal unrest following a controversial statement by its National Chairman, Alhaji Minkailu Mansaray.

Speaking through the APC’s official platform, Mansaray declared, “Anyone suspected of activities and conduct that are inimical to the progress of the APC Party, we will not only frown at them, but will take the battle to their doorsteps. Enough is enough.”

The statement, interpreted by many as a warning to dissenting voices within the party, has sparked fierce debate among supporters and political observers. Critics argue that the remarks were a veiled threat against Dr. Samura Mathew Wilson Kamara, a former APC leader whose actions are perceived to undermine party unity. Others suggest the comments aim to discourage potential challengers for party leadership ahead of the upcoming National Delegates Conference next year.

Party insiders have pointed to the APC’s historical use of “anti-party activities” charges to oust dissenters, including the expulsion of former Vice President Samuel Sam-Sumana in 2015. Concerned members fear a repeat of such tactics, which could stifle intra-party democracy and suppress ambitious members aiming for leadership positions.

Amid rising tensions, calls for reconciliation and inclusivity within the APC are growing louder, as the party prepares for what many believe could be a decisive convention in shaping its future.
