Prince Thomas, alias “Chair Sharkur,” 31, Christian Omotunde Aitkins, 56, and Marion Conteh, 25, have been committed to the High Court of Sierra Leone on multiple charges, including murder and grievous bodily harm.
The accused were arraigned in Pademba Road Court No. 2 in Freetown on four counts: conspiracy to commit murder, contrary to Section 4 of the Offences Against the Person Act, 1861; conspiracy to commit murder, contrary to common law; and murder, contrary to Section 1(a) of the Offences Against the Person Act, 1861 (as repealed and replaced).
On Saturday 22nd march 2025, at Dalley Street, Regent Village, in the Western Area of Sierra Leone, the accused persons allegedly conspired with other unknown person to murder one Momodu Bangura.
Additionally, police alleged that Prince Thomas, alias “Chair Sharkur,” is accused of murdering Momodu Bangura on 22nd March 2025 at Dalley Street, Regent Village, in the Western Area of Sierra Leone. This allegation is specified in count three.
Police also alleged that the accused persons wounded Ibrahim Sorie Sankoh with intent to cause him grievous bodily harm.
The charges were read and explained to the accused persons in court and no plea was entered, as the case is currently in a preliminary investigation for committal to the High Court.
Prosecutor Sergeant 8811F.M. Wilson informed the court that the prosecution had closed its case and submitted all necessary evidence, including witness testimonies, a medical report, and caution statements.
The defense was represented by Counsel J. A. Vandy and Counsel J. M. Jengo.
Magistrate Fornah, in his ruling, stated that based on all the evidence presented—including the medical report and the accused persons’ caution statements—he was satisfied that the case should be committed to the High Court for trial.
All three accused persons were thus committed to stand trial in the High Court on the charges brought against them.
