Work is set to commence on the 38.1-kilometer Tikonko-Kpetema Mattru Jong Road Lot II in Bonthe District, Southern Sierra Leone.

The contract for the project was awarded to Pavifort Road Construction Company by the Sierra Leone Roads Authority (SLRA) a few weeks ago.

The roads include the 38.1 Kilometers Tikonko -Kpetema Mattru Jong Road Lot II, the 8 Kilometers road from the junction to Serabu.

During the awarding of the contract, CEO of Pavifort promised to start transporting equipment and machineries as soon as the contract was signed and it has manifested as they have started Bush Clearing for the Construction of Campsites.

According to the contract, the duration for the Construction of the 38.1 KM Road is 24 months.

The CSE Company as Promised has also Started Transporting various Equipment for the Commencement of the Construction of Bumpeh Bridge, the Bridge Linking Bo District to that of Bonthe District.

The Lot 1 of the Mattru Road is Currently ongoing, and it is from Kpetema to Mattru Jong, and the contract was awarded to a Ghanian Road Construction Company Called Maripoma.

The Minister of Works and Public Assets, Denis Sandy and a team of Engineers from the Sierra Leone Roads Authority (SLRA) headed by Ing. Patrict J. Lavalie embarked on inspection tour in Bonthe District.
