The Government of Sierra Leone, through the Ministry of Finance, received funds from the World Bank towards the Accountable Governance for Basic Service Delivery Project (AGBSDP) has on Friday 10th January, 2025 handed over of Sub-Project Site to the contractor for the Reconstruction of MCHP at Petifu Mandugu Tonkolili District.
Petifu Mandugu is in Kunike Follawusu Chiefdom, Tonkolili District, Northern Sierra Leone.
Stakeholders from both public and private sectors were present to grace the important meeting, involving the Section Chief, Town Chief DHMT Rep, Civil Society, Youth Leader, In-charge , Councillors, Women’s Leader, and a mammoth of community members.
The Chief Administrator Edward Alpha was the master of the ceremony who briefed the audience the purpose of the meeting.
“The Tonkolili District Council is today symbolically handing over the project site to the contractor and the turning of the sod for the “Reconstruction of the PCMH and its component at Petifu Mandugu,” the Chief Administrator said.
The Section Chief, Pa Sheriff Kamara welcomed Madam Chairperson and team from Tonkolili District Council for such an initiative, and he faithfully committed himself and his Chiefdom that they will ensure the necessary assignments given to them would be executed.
Section Chief ,Town Chief, Civil Society, DHMT, Youth Leader, Women’s Leader, Councillors, and In-charge also made salient contributions.
The Works Engineer, Abdul Aziz Sesay outlined the scope of work and facilities such as:

▪️Staff quarter
▪️Water facility
▪️Laundering spot
▪️Solar Installation
▪️Water walkway
▪️Insunerator
▪️Toilets facility
▪️Concrete Tower
Madam Chairperson Yabom Thaslim Sesay gave the Keynote address. She called on all stakeholders and everybody at Petifu Mandugu to handle the health facility that’s about to be constructed with care .
She admonished the contractor to respect local content policy, especially those youths that are dedicated to serving diligently.
She advised stakeholders to be curious about early marriage, teenage pregnancy, and abuse of girls below 18 years.
However, she encouraged all youths to be part of the project by supervising every step taken but should not be the culprit of stealing building materials.
The contractor made a commitment to deliver what is expected from TDC and the people of Petifu Mandugu and its environs.
Finally, the turning of the sod was performed by Madam Chairperson Yabom Thaslim Sesay for construction to start.
