The Regional Transmission Company of Côte d’Ivoire-Liberia-Sierra Leone-Guinea (TRANSCO CLSG) has announced an aerial survey of the CLSG transmission line corridor within Sierra Leone from June 19 to June 25, 2025.
This operation has received approval from the Sierra Leone Civil Aviation Authority.
According to TRANSCO CLSG, the aerial survey will be conducted by Côte d’Ivoire Energies (CIE), the entity responsible for operating and maintaining the CLSG transmission infrastructure. The primary aim of the survey is to inspect the health of the 225kV transmission line that traverses several districts, including Pujehun, Kenema, Kono, Tonkolili, Bombali, Koinadugu, Kambia, and Karene.
The inspection will utilize a helicopter flying at a low altitude, with planned landings at Lungi, Tiloma, and Bumbuna substations for technical coordination and support. TRANSCO CLSG has reassured the public that this operation is routine and professionally managed, posing no risk to public safety.
“All necessary aviation and safety protocols have been strictly observed,” the company stated. They emphasized that there is no cause for panic or fear during the helicopter’s passage over the identified districts.
TRANSCO CLSG is requesting the understanding and cooperation of residents and local authorities to ensure the smooth execution of this important regional infrastructure operation. The company aims to maintain transparency and keep the public informed throughout the survey process.
