Following the launch of the 50 news buses in Freetown by the Ministry of Transport and Aviation meant to ease the challenges in the transport sector, there has been many speculations with regards the ticket price and the sustainable movement of the buses by many Sierra Leoneans.
The buses that have been nicknamed “Waka Fine” moving more people faster has started their free operations from the 30th January -1st February 2024, after which the payment process of Nle 10 might start the following day for passengers. With the too many social media backlash on the ticket prices.
The Director,Ministry of Transport and Aviation, Hindolo Shaka has maintained that, the Nle 10 paid by passengers is not for the entire day using the buses; rather it serves as a one-way payment.
He added that they have to introduce the card system that will ease the payment process and the installation of the card machines may start in March this year, adding that, the paper ticket payment might still be in session even when the card system may start operating to help individuals that do not have the card and those coming to Freetown from the provinces and overseas for a short period of time.
He maintained that, the pending cards would be recharged through Orange or Africell Money or at the Bus stations.
He informed the public that, everyone must try to purchase the tickets at the different Bus stations should they want to on board the Waka Fine buses starting on Friday, 2nd February, 2024 as the free operations may end on Thursday 1st February 2024.
It good, but for some of us who will not afford that amount of payment. Please government of Sierra Leone reduce the amount to 4le because, some of us we are students where did you expect us to have that kind of money 10le is too much please sir.
Papa God 😃…..
Unable to understand the dynamics in the price system.
Government service is more expensive than the commercial service 🙄.
“Dx tin need 2 to 3 hrs lecture”
Nle 10 is only to go?
More problems added to the already exiting problem
Now understandable in my regards of the new buses Waka fine kudos to the GoSL especially the ministry of transport n aviation
SMH…. It only in Sierra Leone a govt buss is more expensive than the private buses…. So watin wuna go say or do if private buses dem sef increase? den price up
SMH salone is the only country in the world that the government is more expensive than the private buses. So what will the government do if private buses decided to increase their prices? A govt that does not have their people at heart God please save salone
I’m not in favor of the NL10 payment to onboard on the bus while other transportation is NL 5 please 🙏 let them cute off the price.
Sorry Mr. Director I think you people need to go back to drawing board and rethink again.
How do you expect people to pay Le10 for WAKA FINE, and leave the other buses and mini “poda-poda” that are asking for Le5.
😄😄😄😄
Dis na film
It a shame to the government of sierra Leone why this people are so heartless, wicked . look at the difference between The public transport they are now trying to influence that sector for we the poor to strain.all they Care for is their selfish interest, but they are not the problem we are the problem cus we are so stupid, senseless cus this are the things we need to put politics tribalism aside and think positively about the interest of the poor not the average sierra Leone ,here we mis the point you are thinking about your self not the poor people.SIERRA LEONE WE NEED LOVE 💕 AMOUNG OUR SELF.

Very good job Mr minister, but we need more buses for the provinces
This is a good initiative and I duff my hat to the government especially the minister of transport and Aviation. Being a one time employee of a reputable airline, I think I understand the dynamics in the pricing system. However I want to encourage you to look into how your ministry can cater for the lower income pax category. Also I may like to see the government include short term transport promotion packages, just something to make this venture customer friendly and flexible. Keep it up Mr. Minister God bless your endeavors.
Nle 10 is too much.
Nle 5 is not bad at all, and it could salvage the situation
This is madness overload, is it that they do not have advicers or their advicers are mad as well. Hmmm 🤔🤔 ooh salone

Clear manifestation that SL politicians don’t care about their people.
You double d suffering on your people and call it development.
D price should be at most Le 4 . It should be less than the private commercial vehicles before we can call it a move for d people.
Una nor dae shame pan una wicked ness. People dae struggle with Le 5 una nor fraid una God for double price pan we yon money dem bak .
