U.S. Ambassador Hunt held high-level talks with leaders from the ruling Sierra Leone People’s Party (SLPP) and the opposition All People’s Congress (APC) in Bonthe District today.

The discussions centered on advancing national unity, promoting democratic reforms, and fostering dialogue to strengthen peace and inclusivity in Sierra Leone.

The Ambassador commended the two parties for progress made toward implementing the Agreement for National Unity and adopting recommendations from the Tripartite Commission. He urged continued commitment to these frameworks, which are pivotal in addressing political tensions and enhancing governance.

In his remarks, Ambassador Hunt reaffirmed the United States’ support for Sierra Leone’s democracy and good governance. He emphasized that sustained reforms and collaboration are essential for the nation’s stability and development.
