In a significant move towards advancing women’s peace and security across the Mano River Union (MRU) region, UN Women Sierra Leone met with the Secretary-General of the MRU, Ambassador Maria G. Harrison, and her team.

The discussions focused on strengthening collaboration and leveraging existing gains to accelerate the women, peace, and security agenda in Sierra Leone.

Comprising Sierra Leone, Liberia, Guinea, and Côte d’Ivoire, the MRU region has witnessed significant contributions from women in peacebuilding efforts. This crucial meeting aimed to build upon these positive developments and further empower women to fulfill their potential and participate in decision-making processes.
