The United Nations Development Program (UNDP) in Sierra Leone has revealed that, the women representation in the fourth coming election has got a laudable boost.
According to them, the June 24th election will have women representation amounting to 36% of the candidates nominated for the election and a hug number of them are first –time candidates.
The election basket fund is supporting the Electoral Commission for Sierra Leone (ECSL) in promoting the inclusive participation of Sierra Leoneans from all works of life.
To ensure transparency as a bedrock principle of elections, the UNDP election basket fund commends the electoral commission for Sierra Leone’s allocation of 203,000 accreditations to eligible stakeholders and remains committed to promoting peaceful, credible and inclusive elections.
