The United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) in Sierra Leone has committed to collaborate with the government of Sierra Leone and other stakeholders in strengthening the Civil Registration and Vital Statistics (CRSV) system.
The engagement may also help in the critical steps for measuring progress towards the ICPD and the SDG as well as the Africa’s agenda 2063 goals.
The Minister of Gender and Children’s Affairs and The Director General of the National Civil Registration Authority (NCRA) also formed part of the engagement as key stakeholders in the sector with the UNFPA deputy representative and other partners in the commemoration of the sixth Africa civil registration and vital statistics (CRSV) day.
In her statement, the minister for gender and children’s affairs applauds the effort put in by the NCRA in the data and preservation skills and called on other developmental partners to strengthen the collaboration and work towards the sustainable development of the program.
