Unicef Sierra Leone has donated brand new Toyota Prado vehicles to the Family Support Unit of the Sierra Leone police.
Sexual violence cases remain the most reported crimes against girls with 1,220 out of 2,314 cases of violence against children between January and June 2022.
The Family Support Unit (FSU) of the Sierra Leone Police, among other things, is challenged with mobility and other logistics to reach out and support victims in often remote areas of the country.
In order to help solve this problem, a Representative from the Unicef Sierra Leone, Dr Suleiman Braimoh, yesterday handed over two new Toyota Prado vehicles to the FSU through the Inspector General of Police, Mr William Fayia Sellu.

This according to Unicef, is in addition to 17 motorbikes, a minibus and other technical and logistical support to the FSU since the start of this year.
