The University of Management and Technology (UNIMTECH) has announced the appointment of Dr. Sheku Ibrahim Conteh as Acting Registrar of the University, with immediate effect.
Dr. Conteh is a seasoned academic, administrator and public servant with extensive experience in higher education management, public governance and development practice, both in Sierra Leone and internationally.
Prior to his appointment, he served as Deputy Dean of Student Affairs and Lecturer in Development Studies at UNIMTECH. He had earlier held the position of Deputy Registrar (Administration), where he played a key role in overseeing daily operations, supervising staff, managing student records and ensuring regulatory compliance.
Dr. Conteh holds a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Politics from London Metropolitan University, a Master of Arts in Politics and Government from London Guildhall University, and a Master of Business Administration from Clayton University in St. Louis, Missouri, USA. He also possesses Certificates in Diplomacy from the Foreign Service Training Institute (FSTI) in Islamabad, Pakistan, and from the Institute of Public Administration and Management (IPAM) in Freetown in collaboration with the Commonwealth Secretariat. Additionally, he holds a Diploma in Administrative Management from the Institute of Administrative Management in England, along with several Certificates and Diplomas in Business Administration from the Association of Business Executives (ABE).
Professionally, Dr. Conteh has previously served as Executive Secretary of the Office of the Ombudsman of the Republic of Sierra Leone, Registrar of the Institute of Advance Management and Technology (IAMTECH), and in senior roles at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Ministry of Economic Planning and National Development. His international experience includes professional engagements in the United Kingdom, and he has also contributed to national sports governance as Chairman of the FIFA/CAF/SLFA 7-Man Working Group.
University Management expressed confidence that Dr. Conteh’s strong academic background, extensive administrative experience and proven leadership will contribute significantly to strengthening governance and institutional development at UNIMTECH.
