In a significant move towards strengthening bilateral military cooperation, the United States and Sierra Leone officially signed the Acquisition and Cross-Servicing Agreement (ACSA) during a formal ceremony at the Myohaung Officers Mess, Wilberforce Barracks, in Freetown.

The ACSA establishes a comprehensive framework that facilitates the exchange of crucial logistical support between the two nations. This includes provisions for food, fuel, transportation, and other essential supplies, aimed at enhancing the operational capabilities of both militaries.

Beyond boosting military readiness, the agreement also underscores a shared commitment to joint humanitarian assistance and crisis response efforts. It is designed to enable both countries to coordinate more effectively during emergencies, thereby strengthening regional stability.

The signing was led by Brigadier General George T.M. Dietrich III, Director of Logistics for U.S. Africa Command, representing the United States. On behalf of Sierra Leone, Colonel (Retired) Muana Brima Massaquoi, Deputy Minister of Defence, appended his signature.

This landmark agreement signals a deepening of defence ties between the United States and Sierra Leone, reaffirming their mutual dedication to regional security, collaborative defence initiatives, and collective stability in West Africa.
