Njala University and the University of Sierra Leone have had their proposals selected for the European Union-funded 2024 Intra-Africa Academic Mobility Scheme (2022–2027).
Both universities will implement two academic projects under the programme.
Njala University’s project is titled “Empowering Africa through Academic Mobility for Climate Change Mitigation, Adaptation, and Sustainable Development.” The initiative will focus on building climate resilience and promoting sustainable solutions across the continent.
The University of Sierra Leone will implement a project titled “Sustainable Energy and Materials, Energy Policy, Climate Change, Energy Economics and Environment.” The project will focus on energy systems, policy development, and environmental sustainability.
In partnership with other universities across Africa and Europe, the initiatives will facilitate the exchange of students and academic staff, aimed at strengthening high-level skills to address the climate crisis, support Africa’s green transition, and contribute to global academic research.
