The University of Sierra Leone has, on the 26th August, 2021, published categories of disciplinary actions taken against students who were under investigation for examination malpractice at at the Institute of Public administration and Management (IPAM) in the 2019/2020 academic year.
USL outlined four categories of results (Exoneration, Result Withheld, Rustication and Expulsion) of the investigations for both the first and second semester of the academic year.
The University highlighted that 39 students have been expelled from the university. It furthered that 7 Final Year Students’ results have been withheld, and only 9 students for both semesters have been found “Not Guilty” for both the semesters.
It added that 61 and 68 students have been rusticated for a period of one year for semester one and semester two respectively, and that 11 students are rusticated for two years for both the semesters in the 2019/2020 academic year.
The University noted that the University Registrar has officially written to each student who were under investigation communicating to the outcome of the investigation and also informing about their opportunity to appeal against the decision of the University to the University Court through the Pro-Chancellor of USL
