US Ambassador to Sierra Leone, Bryan Hunt has met with Chief Minister David Sengeh where both nations reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening private sector participation and fostering commercial development.

Chief Minister Sengeh highlighted the importance of the discussions, stating, “I met with US Ambassador Bryan Hunt today to explore various ongoing and potential private sector investment opportunities. These opportunities span vital sectors such as infrastructure, renewable energy, ports, and the mineral sector.”

He further noted the significance of US investments, revealing that over the years, the development finance company (DFC) has ranked among the top three private sector investors in Sierra Leone on a per capita basis, emphasizing the country’s growing appeal to foreign investment.

“These investments aren’t just for American companies. They support companies from all over the world who care about impact,” Sengeh said.

The Chief Minister assures the people of Sierra Leone of their commitment to delivering and investing in private sector participation and commercial development.

“Our government guarantees to support these investments, and as evidenced by earlier investments made, their returns are assured. Together, through the public sector and the private sector, we will for Sierra Leone.”
