The West African Examinations Council (WAEC) has officially commenced the registration process for the 2025 National Primary School Examination (NPSE) and Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE).
According to a statement from the Acting Head of WAEC, Mr. John Langba, the registration period began on Wednesday, November 27, 2024, and will close on February 27, 2025.
In a letter addressed to the Chief Executive Officer of the Ministry of Basic and Senior Secondary Education (MBSSE) on November 20, 2024, Mr. Langba emphasized the importance of adhering to the deadlines.
He warned that any Head Teacher or Principal who fails to upload their candidates’ registration details by February 27, 2025, will forfeit the opportunity for their students to sit for the exams.
Further, Mr. Langba highlighted the requirement for Continuous Assessment Scores (CASS) to be uploaded between March 1 and May 30, 2025. He stressed that failure to comply with this directive will also disqualify the affected candidates from sitting the NPSE and BECE.
WAEC has urged school administrators to ensure timely compliance with these regulations to avoid unnecessary disruptions to the examination process.
The council has reaffirmed its commitment to maintaining the integrity of the examinations and ensuring that all registered candidates meet the stipulated requirements.
Schools are encouraged to begin the registration process immediately and to adhere strictly to the timelines to avoid any last-minute challenges.
