The World Health Organization (WHO) has held discussions with the Ministry of Health and Sanitation (MOHS) on the eve of celebrating the 2023 UHC day.

The delegation from the ministry included the minister, Austin Demby, the two deputies and other senior staff at the ministry.

It was noted that, the global community has renewed its commitment to achieving Universal Health Coverage (UHC) for all worldwide, it’s time for immediate and tangible steps that get progress back on track.

This year’s theme also reminds us that, in a world that continues to experience a growing number of climate-related health threats, countries must invest in resilient and equitable health systems with primary health care as the foundation. By working across sectors – with governments, the private sector, NGOs and civil society – we can hold our leaders accountable and make universal health coverage a reality by 2030.
