The United Nations Women Sierra Leone has collaborated with UNOPS Sierra Leone in initiating a two-day transformative workshop empowering women-owned businesses in the country.

The UN Women Sierra Leone is a UN organization delivering programmes, policies and standards that upholds Women’s right in the country and UNOPS Sierra Leone is focused on improving healthcare, supporting rural renewable energy initiatives and providing supports in procurement and sustainablr infrastructure and more.

According to them, the aim of the workshop was to enable thses women-owned businesses excel in public procurement and how they can be self sufficient at all times in the country.

It may also serve as a way to increase the total participation in the industry growth and the training is centred on gender responsive sustainable procurement to boost local economic growth and empower women to participate in public and private tender.

The UN Women Sierra Leone has been greatly working behind the women empowerment strategies in making sure that, the women take the active stage and part in development and governance.
