The World Bank Implementation Support Team has started a two-week long mission at Statistics Sierra Leone [Stats SL], as part of its effort to evaluate progress in the implementation of the HISWA Project.

It will also provide technical support for the conduct of the Sierra Leone Integrated Household Survey (SLIHS-2024).

The high-powered delegation from the World Bank Implementation Support Mission, comprises Senior Economist and Statistician–World Bank, Abdoullalai Beidou, who also doubles as the Team Lead for seven (7) West African countries for the HISWA Project, Senior Economist–World Bank, Rose Mungai, and Senior Statistician–World Bank, Gervais Yama.

During its two-week mission, the team will be meeting with Stats SL management and HISWA Project Staff to discuss among other things, the HISWA Project implementation progress, the result framework (RF) of the project, the current status of the Sierra Leone Integrated Household Survey (SLIHS’24), the Multi Indicator Cluster Survey (MICS-7), and Stats SL office building projects.

Harmonizing and Improving Statistics in West Africa (HISWA) is an initiative of the World Bank that seeks to improve and harmonize the collection of credible and quality statistical data in Sierra Leone and other implementing West Africa countries.
